A NEW START

2010 marks the end of 2009 and its events.......with us creating history as we continue to battle in our life. In SAG 09 we managed to repeat our best record by acquiring 14 medals in total making every parents proud and old personal records smashed into pieces making the coaches go wild..... This allowed 2 swimmers to try their luck in NAG 09 which is also a history to be remembered as we don't have that many swimmers entering NAG before, the respective swimmers are LUI YAO ZONG & ONG YI HUA. In MSSS, a overhauling 30+ medals were snatched by our swimmers, which also was written into the history of SJCSC. TAN YUN HUNG was nominated into MSSM joining the hall of fame ..... For the water polo event KENNY KO who was proudly selected to represent Selangor in the MSSM. While all those event passed by leaving evidently indispensable hard fought effort by every swimmer, coach BEN announced his retirement from competitive swimming.......................................................................

Even so due to his undying LOVE for the swimmers he came back to coach after the President's cup meet in Paroi. As usual, morning training was commenced in the month of December with swimmers swam a combined mileage of 10,500m a day (morning and night). This will later proved fruitful in the coming meet the SAG 2010.

On the first day of the meet, long distance events commenced 1st and the trainings and efforts by the swimmers was awarded with medals flowing in and personal records shattered for more than 11 seconds....... That made coaches and parents excited swimmers jumping for joy as they hear their records shreaded ^^, ................

On the second day, it became even more interesting as more medals flow in with the 1st silver delivered by a small young guy, LUI YAO ZONG in a mouth watering, intense, crazy and certainly the highlight of the SAG, 400m IM and obviously more records were broken.......... Coach Ben's last day was in fact this very day, 6th of Feb 2010 as the next morning he's to board the plane back to Sabah, KK leaving his legacy behind with the kids of SJCSC......=(

The third day, started with no smile on the swimmers as they know their hero isn't there to see them swim anymore and morale was down the drains. But after a motivational speech, the swimmers realise they have still got to do it for coach Ben as they warm up they remember all the teachings of their hero all the shoutings and all the head smacking............they rose up with confidence and stood tall on the starting block remembering all.................

and boom...........records fell even further with seconds were plummered from their personal best and in the morning TAN YUN HUNG delivered the news that SJCSC has been waiting for a loooong time, a GOLD in the bag for 50m BK by maintaining his time from President's cup 09. the news was fast spreaded to coach Ben... and I think he CRIED ^^..... with joy.....

it was certainly not the last of the best medals was pouring in and in the relay silver from our golden girls and under 10 boys nearly wrapped it up...... nearly...... as the 11-12 yrs old girls displayed what was said the best relay event of all time.... 2 teams were dispatched with team B going furious 1st and ended with their best timing ever............... team A were to swim with national and states swimmer side by side.... and to the surprise even to the other team EUNICE CHEAH flew like a rocket overtaking 4 swimmers in butterfly (100m) to touch for being in 2nd place and the team eventually prevail in fourth overall beating the other star studded swimmers.......

OVERALL, everyone and I mean everyone from the youngest swimmer till the oldest swimmer.... everyone did their best and didn't gave up till the end, as I always say medals or no medals, if one is to not give up even if one were to be last the one prevails as a winner and this is the best GIFT to ever be presented to the coaches ...... no gold and diamonds or abalones can substitute that............

Finally, let's give our best in everything as taught by our beloved Coach Ben who has started his new journey in Sabah...............thanks man
